چکیده

We derive self-similar solutions including cooling and heating in an Einstein de-Sitter universe, and investigate the effects of cooling and heating on the gas density and temperature distributions. We assume that the cooling rate has a power-law dependence on the gas density and temperature, Λ∝ρT, and the heating rate is Γ∝ρT . The values of A and B are chosen by requiring that the cooling time is proportional to the Hubble time in order to obtain similarity solutions. In the region where the cooling rate is greater than the heating rate, a cooling inflow is established, and the gas is compressed and heats up. Because the compression is greater in the inner region than in the outer region, the temperature becomes an increasing profile toward the center. In particular, when a large infall velocity is produced due to an enormous energy loss, the slope of the density approaches a value that depends on A, B, and the velocity slope, and the slope of the temperature approaches −1. On the other hand, in the region where the heating rate is greater than the cooling rate, the infall velocity is suppressed, compression of the gas is weakened, and the gas cools down. The slope of the density becomes shallow due to suppression of the contraction, and the temperature is lower than that without heating. The self-similar collapse presented here gives insights to the effects of cooling and heating on the gas distributions in galaxies and clusters of galaxies.

Collapse of Primordial Clouds

We present here studies of collapse of purely baryonic Population III objects with masses ranging from 10M⊙ to 10 6M⊙. A spherical Lagrangian hydrodynamic code has been written to study the formation and evolution of the primordial clouds, from the beginning of the recombination era (zrec ∼ 1500) until the redshift when the collapse occurs. All the relevant processes are included in the calcula...

Cosmological Simulations with Scale-Free Initial Conditions I: Adiabatic Hydrodynamics

We analyze hierarchical structure formation based on scale-free initial conditions in an Einstein-de Sitter universe, including a baryonic component with Ωbary = 0.05. We present three independent, smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) simulations, performed at two resolutions (323 and 643 dark matter and baryonic particles), and with two different SPH codes (TreeSPH and P3MSPH). Each simulatio...

Modeling and Analysis of a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Based Trigeneration System with an Oxygenated Fuel by Using an Exergoeconomic Methodology for Power, Heating and Cooling Production

In the present study, thermo-economic analysis of a combined solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) with a gas turbine, a generator-absorber heat exchanger (GAX) and heating process heat exchanger for heating, cooling and power production as a tri-generation system is conducted. Also, an external steam reformer is applied to convert methanol as oxygenated fuel to hydrogen for the electrochemical process ...
